Meet Accredited Facility Dog, London!

About London

London is Archway Society’s newest furry team member. As an Accredited Facility Dog (AFD) at our Oak Child and Youth Advocacy Center (CYAC), she supports children and youth who have experienced abuse, sexual assault or witnessed a crime. Her gentle presence eases fear, builds trust, and helps young people feel safe enough to share their stories during forensic interviews, meetings, and counselling sessions. For many, London is the grounding force that allows healing to begin.

London was born on April 12, 2024, and came to us in March, 2026 from the Lion’s Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, after graduating from their AFD program. London continues the legacy of AFD Cirque, who was retired in February, 2026 after 6 years of dedicated service.

What is an Accredited Facility Dog (AFD)?

Accredited Facility Dogs are specially trained to offer comfort, assist with emotional regulation, and help create a sense of security. This can be especially useful during high-stress situations such as forensic interviews or court testimony. Incorporating facility dogs into our CYAC services helps children feel safe and supported during therapy, forensic interviews, and court appearances. (kindexcentre.ca)

Why London’s Care Matters

To keep showing up for children and youth in moments of crisis, London needs consistent, tail-wagging care. Veterinary support, healthy food, enrichment, and wellness essentials ensure she stays happy, healthy, and ready to provide comfort every single day.

How Your Support Makes a Difference

Your partnership strengthens a service that helps more than 2,473 people each year find safety and healing. With your support, London can keep lending a paw to children navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives.

Last year alone, our previous Accredited Facility Dog:

– Provided support to children/youth in more than 30 interviews
– Accompanied clients during court appearances 51 times
– Attended over 90 meetings with clients and professionals

Your support ensures our new furry teammate is healthy and ready to work. And when London’s needs are covered, extra funds will go to our Oak Child and Youth Advocacy Centre programs where she brings comfort, courage, and healing to children, youth, and families.
