Archway Society for Domestic Peace provides a wide range of supportive services for survivors of
domestic and sexual violence. We provide shelter, counselling, child and youth advocacy, outreach
services, and collaborative community projects. We strive to retain a grassroots atmosphere of women
helping women. Our work environment is casual and based on a commitment to participatory and
collaborative team work.

 

 

Temporary Part-Time Stopping the Violence Counsellor (Armstrong/Enderby) – The Stopping the Violence (STV) Counsellor provides individual and group counselling and related support to women who have experienced violence in their relationships, sexual assault and childhood abuse.

Hours of work: 16 hours per week, Wednesday and Thursday
Temporary – 6 months or until return of the incumbent

Casual Transition House Workers-The Transition House Worker (THW) provides support, security, advocacy, information, education, crisis
intervention and referrals to residents, and other women in the community who seek support by telephone or through drop-in to the Transition House (House). 

Hours of work: “On-call” basis
Rate: $19.45 and $22.65

Summer Student – Building Maintenance Assistant – The Building Maintenance Assistant works in consultation/collaboration with the Building Maintenance  Coordinator, and helps with maintenance and repairs to buildings, grounds and equipment in areas such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and grounds keeping. Work may take place at various locations.  Must be between 15- 30 years of age (Federal Program Requirement) 

 Hours of work: 30 hours per week                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Temporary – 8 weeks
