PEACE Child and Youth Counsellor – Vernon

Provides counselling, education and advocacy support to children who have experienced domestic violence. Provides emotional and parenting support for parents regarding the impact on their children of experienced violence. Co-delivers Violence Is Preventable (VIP) presentations to students in grades K-12, as well as to school staff, parents and service providers to increase awareness of the effects that domestic violence has on students.

Hours of work: Temporary Part-Time (28 hours/week)

Building Maintenance Coordinator

Coordinates and performs overall facility maintenance including minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry; garbage and recycling coordination; painting; equipment repair; and lawn/grounds maintenance. The Building Maintenance Coordinator contributes to the Health and Safety committee as well as fire safety training at all Archway Society locations. In addition, the Building Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.

This position requires a highly motivated, self-starting entrepreneurial individual that has a combination of hands-on working knowledge of facility repair and the ability to keep focused on longer-term priorities.

Hours of work: 28 hours/week

Community Engagement and Digital Media Coordinator

The Community Engagement and Digital Media Coordinator will coordinate special events, workshops and presentations relating to women, children and families experiencing violence and abuse, as well as other women’s issues. The Coordinator is responsible for community awareness through media, social media, and other settings, about these issues. The Coordinator also engages with donors, community partners, and others to promote awareness of Archway and all its programs.

Casual Transition House Workers

The Transition House Worker (THW) provides support, security, advocacy, information, education, crisis intervention and referrals to residents, and other women in the community who seek support by telephone or through drop-in to the Transition House.
