Archway Society for Domestic Peace provides a wide range of supportive services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. We provide shelter, counselling, child and youth advocacy, outreach services, and collaborative community projects. We strive to retain a grassroots atmosphere of women helping women. Our work environment is casual and based on a commitment to participatory and collaborative team work.

Current Opportunities

Summer Student – Grounds and Facilities Assistant

The Grounds and Facilities Assistant works in consultation/collaboration with the Building Maintenance Coordinator, and helps with upkeep and repairs to grounds, buildings, and equipment in areas such as carpentry, plumbing, painting and grounds keeping. Work will take place at various locations.

Hours of work: 10 weeks; 35 hours/week

Community Engagement and Digital Media Coordinator

The Community Engagement and Digital Media Coordinator will coordinate special events, workshops and presentations relating to women, children and families experiencing violence and abuse, as well as other women’s issues. The Coordinator is responsible for community awareness through media, social media, and other settings, about these issues. The Coordinator also engages with donors, community partners, and others to promote awareness of Archway and all its programs.

Casual Transition House Workers

The Transition House Worker (THW) provides support, security, advocacy, information, education, crisis intervention and referrals to residents, and other women in the community who seek support by telephone or through drop-in to the Transition House. 

Hours of work:“On-call” basis
